Biography

Karley Klopfenstein was born in Redding, CA in 1974. She did her undergraduate work at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where she received her BA in Sociology, Anthropology and Fine Art in 1997. In addition to sculpture, she also studied photography, printmaking and philosophy, which greatly informed her later work. She did graduate work in sculpture at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She is the former Director of Exhibitions for Sculpture Key West, an internationally recognized outdoor sculpture exhibition that takes place annually in Key West Florida. She is represented by the Charest-Weinberg Gallery, in Miami. She is the artist in residence at St. Mary's College for the Fall 2010 semester. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY.
